CONGRATULATIONS
ON PASSING YOUR TEST........NOW WHAT?
Once you have passed your practical test and first start driving, you will
continue to acquire new driving skills.
These will be learnt by trial and error, unfortunately an error whilst driving
can be serious. To help you minimize your errors we would suggest you undertake
further training, one option to gain this training is to book a Pass Plus
Course of Driving Lessons.
The Pass Plus Driving Course is a minimum of six hours of instruction to further
develop attitudes and skills for safe driving.
Here are some good reasons for improving your skills at this stage:
1) Drivers aged between 17 and 21 make up 10% of all licence holders but are
involved in 20% of all injury accidents, with a young male driver 7 times more
likely to be involved in a fatal road accident than a middle aged man.
2) It's not just the younger novice who is at risk. People who take their
driving test later in life are at a much higher risk than those who have driven
for some years. Research by the Transport Research Laboratory shows that lack
of experience, not immaturity, is the main factor.
3) Many Insurance Companies give substantial discounts when you complete your
Pass Plus course giving a saving that can often be greater than the cost of the
course. These discounts show the Insurer's confidence in the Pass Plus scheme,
they don't give away money without reason.
